A few days ago, the Plant Protection Bureau of Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the General Administration of Customs of China granted codes to 47 durian planting areas and 18 packaging plants. So far, a total of 293 growing areas and 115 packing plants in Vietnam have obtained codes issued by the General Administration of Customs of China.
A total of 51 planting areas were submitted this time, of which 4 planting areas failed to pass customs inspection due to unsatisfactory control measures and insufficient information in the submitted documents. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Plant Protection Department has agreed with the General Customs Department for online inspections of the next batch of 400 growing areas and 60 packaging plants.
Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that as Vietnam enters the peak season of durian ripening, durian exports will also prosper. In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam's durian exports amounted to US$153.5 million, an increase of more than 8.3 times year-on-year, of which 87% of durians worth about US$133.6 million were exported to China. In the first quarter, Vietnam's durian has not yet entered the main season, and exports have already shown strong growth, accounting for 16% of the country's total fruit and vegetable exports.
