Pork prices in Brazil continued to decline in February, with the monthly average already the lowest since April 2024 in real terms, according to Cepea.
The drop in prices increased pork’s competitiveness against beef and chicken for the second consecutive month.
The improved position against beef was also supported by rising beef prices during the period. Chicken prices, meanwhile, also declined but less sharply than pork.
The fall in pork prices is linked to increased supply relative to demand. Market participants had expected some decline in the first two months of 2026 due to weaker consumer purchasing power, though the scale of the price drops has drawn attention.
